These Pretzels Are Making Me Thirsty

Got my new Rx and I can see great with my contacts, but I'm having some issues with the glasses. I can't tell if it's just getting used to the new Rx or the shape of the frames I chose (mild cat eye), or something isn't quite right. You'd think, though, if the contacts are great, the glasses should be even better (I have astigmatism in both eyes, contacts don't help there). I'm finding it's taking me a while to focus, especially with my right eye and especially reading. It feels like it wants to cross all the time. I did have to fudge my pupil distance, but negligibly, so I thought it would be okay. At the same time, it could be the eye doctor maybe got something off due to focusing on distance sight. What do I know? *sigh*

The other problem with the glasses is they keep sliding down. I'm trying to decide if I should return them (got them on zenni.com) or give it a few more days. I'm experiencing head pain, but I can't say if it's the eye issues or if it's my regularly scheduled head pain. Or both. Argh. These frames are cute. I want to keep them, but not at the cost of constant headache.

Been there, returned the dog. :(


In other news, I love peanut butter, but I find almond butter disconcerting.

Also disconcerting? Prescription commercials that anthropomorphize body parts like bladder and bowel. Any body part, really, but those two in particular make me wonder why that advertising tack has ever been used. It's odd.

It turns out if I'm very, very careful, I can still use my busted lens. It doesn't sound right, though, so more is broken than the coupling. :(

Still, it didn't stop me from trying to capture last night's sunset - I think these look pretty good, but the odd thing is the sky was mostly blue and the sun a bright, bright red-orange. Not sure how to put that to "film", as these all turned out quite different.

I feel less like I ended up on the bottom of a rugby pile today, but still store. Ugh, aging. Still, this was nothing compared to a huge-ass bruise I got a few years ago breaking into my own apartment. That was swollen and sore for a good long time.

Anyway, unrelated to pictures and clumsiness, I'm making attempt one at Cherry Limeade cupcakes. Yesterday I made a cherry pie filling - in place of water, I used kirschwasser. Uhm, yum! It'd make an excellent drunken cherry pie. Hopefully these cupcakes turn out! I'm not sure they're lime-y enough. Time will tell!
