The toilet runneth over

Of course there's a bona fide maintenance emergency on the one weekend S. has gone out of town. The dude down the hall flushed his toilet and it kept running and running and running. I thought he meant a slow trickle like happens when the chain becomes detached from the lever, but as it turns out, the guy has a commercial toilet. No tank, no lever, no chain. No shut-off valve!

And on a selfish note, this happened just as I was getting ready to run a few errands. Now I'm stuck until qualified help arrives. Bah.

Toilet humor

Me: So, that's it? That's all you're going to do?
Maintenance guy: It's worth a shot.
Me: I just don't know how taking the part out and shaking it around a bit is really going to do anything.
Tenant wanders back in, smiling: Sometimes that works wonders, actually. A part needs a good shake now and then.
Me: *blush*
MG: It's an important part. Might have just needed some TLC.
Me: *blush some more and laugh*

Then...THEN maintenance guy's cell phone goes off and it's totally porno music.

Tenant: What the heck? Who's calling you with the CHiPS music?
MG: It's not a call, it's an event reminder.
Me: What event is that music for?
MG: I dunno. I swear I didn't even program that.
Tenant: I was going to say adult movie music.
Me: Nice. *laugh*
Tenant: Probably should've stuck with that. And I wish I had your kind of weekend, dude.

I have done no laundry today. I have cleaned nothing. I didn't bother making the bed. Today was a wasted day, and I just really don't care.

Lovely version of Modest Mouse song playing now. It makes me more depressed.
