I finally bought the Space: Above and Beyond DVDs. The plan was to watch one a day, maybe two. I spent all yesterday and most of today watching them instead. I couldn't stop. I thought maybe my fondness for S:AAB was really just glorified memories, and that it wouldn't be as good as those memories would have me believe. I was wrong. It wasn't a perfect show, that's for sure. FCOL, one of the main themes involves a woman in a refrigerator scenario...but so much about it was good. If it had gone on longer than one season, I think it could have really become great.
And it amazes me that, 12 years later and knowing what's coming, I am still left all wibbly and weepy by the ending of this show. The final scene, especially, made a huge lump form in my throat.
Now, though, I suppose I should at least try to do the billion and one things I'd intended to get done this weekend.
Or maybe I'll rewatch another episode or two of S:AAB.
