I know what you mean. I try to avoid the news as much as possible, but it seems to seep in anyway. I've been watching DVDs and Netflix streaming, though, and that helps to filter it out some. Every time I read something else online--and I so don't want to read it, but I see these headlines and *click*--I'm more appalled.
OTOH, sometimes I think maybe this is the wrong approach. I'm amazed that people haven't been out rioting in the streets for the last 10 years or so and even more puzzled now, but then, I'm not either, I guess.
I know. I'm dreading when it's my state's turn to get the robocalls. It really pisses me off, because we have our phone number unlisted and unpublished. We pay extra for that. Simply registering to vote gives every candidate access to our names, address, and phone number. :-( Last time around I unplugged the phone for the duration. I will do this again and also will not vote for any candidate that calls (if I hear the call).
