I didn't think much of this episode the first time I saw it, but in subsequent viewings, it became more of a favorite for a lot of the reasons you wrote about here.
I loved the angst about Teal'c, too--back when they still cared when someone was missing. *g*
I'm not sure I agree with Jack being so quick to blame Daniel for them getting caught the second time. If they had left like he wanted, they would have left Teal'c behind...and that's not exactly acceptable. Also, if they hadn't been caught again, we wouldn't have got that really quitely lovely shot of Daniel in chains... ;)

Am I the only one who gets this little voice calling out "Assssssss youuuuuuu wisssshhhhhhh!" when SG-1 and Mary roll down that steep hill near the end? Because every time I see that, I do.
