Scritching my way to the surface

Great googa-mooga, it's been a long time since I've been here!!
I guess the deal is sealed, I'm boring as hell.
The guy I went out and had no chemistry with developed a little sparkage for a while, and now I think not so much anymore. Of course, that might be me sabotaging anything remotely good that could come from it. Still, Not Boyfriend and I spent much of November together. We still are kind of going out in total Not Girlfriend and Not Boyfriend fashion. I think Not Boyfriend doesn't know he's Not Boyfriend, though I have tried and tried and tried to get that across.
Now I must determine if Not Boyfriend is correct and I'm an uptight, repressed soul who just needs to let go or if my own gut screaming 'platonic!' is pretty much bang on.
Isn't that all just vague, but riveting?
On a different note, a week from tomorrow will find me on a plane to Minnesota, where I'll undoubtedly be guilted and pressed and cajoled about moving back. I do not plan on letting this affect me. Who knows, though, it might be a good way to escape the Not Boyfriend situation. ;)
I have yet another new niece. Not terribly excited about her - she's the offspring of one of my least favorite siblings. Aren't I awful? Well, you'd have to know A. She's very...pretentious and elitist and snobby. And she also, according to my mother, always has the most beautiful, sweetest babies. Needless to say, the favoritism goes beyond these types of comments, and even though I'm childless, it's darned annoying. Never mind the fact that A's babies always look very funky until at least age three. This latest one looks like Monsignor Grabowski, the Polish priest that resided over our church when I was young. *meow*
I plan on doting on my brother's baby, born in September (of which Mom said only, "I can't tell who she looks like - M or R."). Everyone else can have the most beautiful and sweetest kid.
I haven't finished my Christmas shopping yet - I keep remembering people. I am thinking of going up to Vancouver on Friday, to pick up a few things from a specialty shop. I suppose I could get some other shopping done there at the same time. I'm frightfully lazy. Not sure I'm quite up for the drive.
Well, that be it for now. I'll check back in...oh, I dunno.
