Wooly Bears and Chicken Legs

Lunchtime walk was a hugely enjoyable event despite the aching back. On the way to the bank I spotted a caterpillar undulating on the sidewalk and picked it up, to let it crawl around on my hand for a while. Most bugs on my skin kind of creep me out, but there's something about the tickle from a caterpillar that just launches me right back into childhood.
On the way back, I passed by the cutest little old man with gigantic shorts cinched tightly by a belt and dark socks up to mid-calf. He had a pipe going, and a joyous smile on his face and how could I not get a lift out of that?
