Gack, I just swallowed my gum.
Reconciling this particular group of transactions makes me sob like a little child.
Why do people insist that it doesn't really matter whether or not there's an H at the end of Sara or not? It does matter. They're different names, even if they sound the same. If my name were Sara (or Sarah), it would bug me that people use the spellings as interchangeable. Just saying.
Is it 4:30 yet?

Date: 2006-05-19 11:32 am (UTC)So now it really confuses me when I see 'Sara' written down, as to me it'll always be Sar-ra and I don't know who they're talking about. If I'm going to read about a person whose name is pronounced Sair-rah, then I have to do a quick search and replace.
At the moment I'm constantly thrown by NCIS fic with Ziva in that refers to her as 'David'. My brother-in-law is David - I'll always hear it as a bloke's name in my head.

Date: 2006-05-19 02:23 pm (UTC)My name is Kelly. Not Kelli or Kellie or Kelley or (and I've seen it this way!) Celli. Each of those may sound alike, but is Not. My. Name.
People who don't get it probably have a name that can't be misspelled or misprounounced.
