I miss my mom. I miss my dad. I am still pondering if a move back to the midwest should happen to be closer to Dad, but the sheer thought of losing the ability to be out pretty much all year round is keeping me selfishly planted where I am. I could potentially rent out this home so I could return one day. As long as it was to a Coast Guard family, I'd consider it. Hmm.

Built this recently. It's a chicken coop. Far cheaper than buying a prefab greenhouse, y'all, and while it ain't that pretty, it's so far working great. I would never trust it as a coop, though! The chicken wire is flimsy and held on with zip ties. If I lived in the country, predators would have ZERO problem busting in.

I've put in radishes, cucumbers, lettuce, dill, tomatoes, green beans and pumpkins. I know zucchinis do well here, but I honestly find them useless. I think next year I will put in some blueberries and strawberries somewhere Oh, and earlier this month someone brought in some red onions to work and two of them had started to sprout, so I nabbed them and split them into six new onion starts as well.

Now I just have to be better about watering stuff, and transplant some of the booming lithodora from the front onto the area between my leaning tower of retaining wall and the neighbor's fence. When you lack the funds for a new retaining wall, cover the old one with pretty blue groundcover.

Phase one of backyard projects pretty much done - I have to go pick up stuff and tidy a bit, and I want to install a raised bed on stilts too, for additional planting. Next phase is a patio. I am determined. I really have to get it in! I've been all talk for years. I would love to be able to just sit out back and read, maybe get a fire pit. Though, yesterday as I was wrestling with the greenhouse plastic, my kitty corner neighbor to the northwest called out to me from her second story deck how proud she was of me for getting the greenhouse installed. She has a bird's eye view of my backyard... Next up, how to put up a twenty foot tall fence! LOL, J/K. Mostly.

Now, unrelated, do I buy a single serve coffee brewer that does both iced and hot, or just hot and just stick it in the fridge to cool down? Looking at both pod and non-pod options. It's not a necessity, so eh. Maybe my pour over tea filter will just have to keep on working for me.

Also unrelated, I have become obsessed with hairless cats and dogs and I want one so I can name it Dominar Rygel XVI.

I know there are so few people here these days, but sometimes I like a good ramble.
