Not a llama

CSB: I thought the alpaca farm was not far away. I was sure of it, so when I accidentally missed the turn into the hotel parking lot and kept going ... and going and going, I started to wonder if they even truly existed outside of my brain. I gave it fifteen miles, then couldn't in good conscience keep going. On the way back, I ran into the alpaca farm. Just about exactly the distance I thought it was - six miles. I'd already logged the miles, so...
There were only three up close in good photographable range. All others were out to pasture or behind ugly fencing. :(

I kind of loved this one. She was such a cool cat and actually looked my direction. Kind of.

This is Dolly. Dolly is with cria - the guy said she'd pop any day now and encouraged me to come back if I get the chance. Oh, curse this short training week! I'll only be here through Wednesday afternoon.

She made some pretty cute disgruntled noises as she chowed. That's apparently a pretty good indicator she's about to have the baby. Poor thing.

This one refused to acknowledge my presence.

But what a profile shot!

I'm not even kidding. I drove away certain that I need to have an alpaca farm. Maybe with some goats too. I can make cheese and sweaters. *nods* Seriously, these things are so super cute. Because they're so super cute and I'm kind of envious of the farmer, I had to go see his little store - basically a room in his basement - and found a big bin of alpaca balls. The newest thing in dryer anti-static! Not kidding.
I bought three. Even if they don't work I feel good supporting anyone who has 160 alpacas, just because, and now can't wait to do laundry. LOL.
