Hmmm.

I'm not one to stand up for a stinky city like Sioux Falls, but dudes, they were making it out to be a town with a population of 5,000, where everyone knows everyone. It's not a huge city, mind you, but it's over 200,000 people. Really, SPN PTB? You couldn't have found an actual podunk town in South Dakota?

Got that off my chest.

Still, it was pretty dang funny when the sheriff (yay, another female authority figure!) called Sam and Dean's "supervisor" and recognized Bobby's voice. Busted. I liked the sheriff despite the slightly cliched "lost a child" storyline, something I can't help they chose because of her gender. She was in denial like they all were, but when it came to it she proved her strength. Poor woman lost her child, got her monster!child back for a while, lost her husband and lost her child again. Sam asking her if she was all right was natural, and her silent reaction was perfect. Of course she's not all right.

I knew something was up with Bobby when he was so clean and hatless, and it wasn't exactly a surprise to learn his wife was among the living dead. What a heartbreak. Poor Bobby. I knew what was going to have to happen, and I think he did too. You can't really blame the guy for fighting the inevitable for as long as he could. I loved his wife, and can see why she and Bobby were such a good pair. Even as a zombie, she was awesome. I hated that he had to kill her again, and I'm really worried that Death did succeed in killing Bobby's spirit. First the new physical challenges, and now this? It's too much, even for someone as all-out awesome as Bobby.

Lots of Sam going off and doing the dirty work, but that's okay because he totally came back and saved the day.

Lots of pie.

Eep, Bobby and Dean shooting it out together. I wasn't really worried that they were going to die, though it's a damned good thing Dean and Sam didn't leave when Bobby told them to. He'd be a dead man right now. You'd think Death would have taken that into consideration. Maybe he did?
It makes sense, though, trying to strip away what little support system Sam and Dean have left - and Bobby's the cornerstone.

Not a bad episode.
