I knew it.

I called both Arcade Fire's Funeral and Radiohead's OK Computer as being in top five favorite albums as voted on by KEXP listeners(Funeral was at three, OK Computer at one.) Predictable lot.
That said, I LOVE both those albums. I don't know how many times I've listened to OK Computer and I never get tired of it (except, oddly, Karma Police). I'm fairly sure the same will be said of Funeral eight-ten years down the road.
And this matters to none of you. I just love it when stuff I love is loved by others. :)

Date: 2008-10-13 06:35 am (UTC)Really? That's entirely possible and maybe I forgot about it. They're not a band that's in the forefront of my mind like the Who or Bad Company or even Nickelback. hehe I just checked my music library and I don't have any songs by them, either. Maybe you recced a song by them and I listened to it.
And you are henceforth known as a blasphemer. Nobody could to Creep better than Radiohead.
I have spoken.
Hee! I can see how if you were a fan of Radiohead, you might not like David Cook's version or any other version, but I heard the Axium version first and I'm in love with it. The Radiohead version is beautiful, but the Axium version is a rough, live version played by a bar band. David Cook was singing in a really weird voice, but when he sings those high notes at the end, he owns me. :-)
It's not just that, though. I like the guitar in the song, too, and just the heaviness they gave to it. I'd love to hear him do a stripped-down acoustic version of that song someday. Really, I'd just like to hear him sing anything. *g*

Date: 2008-10-13 03:50 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've found if someone's a Radiohead fan, they're a BIG Radiohead fan. The original Creep was about as rock as that group ever got (Pablo Honey is much more guitar-based and less experimental than their subsequent albums.).
I like David Cook, but I ... won't be agreeing with you anytime soon. ;)
