It is super, super foggy this morning. I stepped out of the house and met a wall of white.

Snapped very quickly from the back porch at work.



It probably doesn't demonstrate the thickness of the fog very well, but let's just say you should be able to see a LOT more than that. Houses and hills and mountains, at the very least.

ETA: 20 minutes later - bright sunshine and clear skies.

Also, this shirt makes me smile.

Ah, that reminds me of Kodiak. It would get so foggy there so often that you would forget that you were surrounded by mountains. We couldn't even see the car parked across the street from our house sometimes. Then the sun would burn it off (sometimes after days and days of fog) and then it was like suddenly being in this magical world that you only see in movies. It really was the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

That picture is very lovely--both for itself and for the memories it stirred up. :-)

Fog can be a bear to drive in, at least in rural areas. I remember quite a few adventures in fog so thick I couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me. Really makes the adrenaline pump.

Kodiak does sound lovely - you're right, magic.

Yeah, the fog was a way of life in Kodiak, and I assume it probably is there, as I've heard the weather is similar in Seattle--that it rains even *more* in Seattle than Kodiak. *g* I miss those kinds of days. There aren't enough of them here, and we've been having one of the worst droughts ever for the last couple of years.
