Just got back from looking at the studio. As it turns out, it's in a building that I've adored for a couple of years now - every time I'd walk by I would just fantasize about living there. Too, too cute (13th and E. Mercer). There's much potential for the spot. Closet's a little small, but the kitchen is huge. If I do get a treadmill (and do get the apartment), I might be totally tacky and put it in the kitchen, where the table should go. ;)

I filled out an application, because why not? I don't know if I'll get in, because the woman's apparently going primarily on who has the best credit history, and while I don't have bad history, I just don't have that much history due to an aversion to using plastic instead of real money.

We'll see. Actual costs would be up close to the $800 mark (with cable, phone, internet). I'm not worried about the heat bill, as I don't anticipate using heat much, if at all. Parking would still be an issue. Now I suppose I should give S. a head's up and tell him not to worry, that I'm just entertaining the idea.

Also, I'm on day two of a really nagging, horrid headache. I think having my head chopped off right now would hurt less.

I think that's a good idea, if you like it and it's convenient. :-) I have my treadmill in the family room which is off the kitchen and the main part of the house. It's not very attractive, but I like it there. I'd never use it if it were hidden away upstairs somewhere. *g*

Now I suppose I should give S. a head's up and tell him not to worry, that I'm just entertaining the idea.

Wouldn't it be better to wait until you know for sure? Am I wrong about the etiquette for this? I always thought that it's not a good idea to tell one's current employer that one is considering looking for another job until one actually has the other job. This is sort of the same thing, isn't it?

If you tell him and then don't get in or decide not to take it, he might find a reason to replace you because he thinks you'll be leaving soon anyway or at least he might not be very nice about it.

OTOH, don't really listen to me. *g* I don't really know. I've never actually been in that position. When I've left jobs before, it's always because we were getting transferred, except once when it was a second job I was working.

I hope your headache feels better soon.

Oh, I didn't know that. You're probably right that it's better to tell him that you're at least considering it.
