I finally opened today's mail and discovered a letter from US Bank was actually real mail and not junk. It's...the title to the car I finally now OWN. No more payments! The loan is finito. Ended. DONE.

I cannot tell you how excited I am to have finally accomplished this (even through my rough patch of working a friggin' $10/hr job). I was thrilled to stop sending the student loan people my money, it's true, but I had lots of grants, etc. and so that loan wasn't really so painful.

Anyway. It's now officially MY car. Woot!

Anyone want to buy a car? 6 years old, only 29000 miles on it.

Yep. At the time I had a great job that I thought was only going up...a month later I was sacked for reasons I still can't quite figure out. Uh, whoops.

That's when the car became something bigger for me. As silly as it is, I did not want to lose the stupid thing (that I now don't even drive). My way of showing the world it could screw with me but it wouldn't eff me up completely.

YAY!!!!!!! I love paying off a car! Can't wait to pay the current one off. ;-( At least I probably won't have to refinance it like I did the last one. That HURT!

I probably should have refinanced. I don't know how I managed to avoid it for a couple of years there. Whew.

But, yay, my first brand new car ownership. My first car didn't count - my sister pretty much made me buy hers and I hated it.

I've had to refinance two and it bit both times (one due to a divorce and the other due to being stupid ;-). I should be able to manage the current one. Only four more years. ;-)
