Self pimping

You know what I hate? People who always respond to posts and comments and such with reference materials in hand...reference materials THEY wrote THEMSELVES. I don't know why it bugs me so much, but it does.

There are lots of people like that. The self-proclaimed important people you just KNOW think "I'm so cool, I'm so cool" as they say everything.

I think the tone of the post would determine whether it bothered me or not. *g* I don't mind some self-pimping, but also...if you have something that might actually be useful to someone--if they're asking for it--I don't really have a problem with that.

OTOH, if the person is always pimping stuff he/she wrote everywhere in response to everything or kind of snotty or arrogant about it or if they have a know-it-all type of attitude or even just a "every other resource sucks, read what I wrote about it" thing going on, that would bug me. hehe

I don't mind some self-pimping, either, but jeez. There's a difference between doing it randomly and doing it every time you open your mouth (or hit the keyboard, as it were.)
