Oh, and the lady who drove us around (and unnecessarily paid for every coffee, snack and meal all the while) Vermont sounded exactly like Lois from Family Guy. Frigging cracked me up just listening to her.

On the plane ride home, I was writing in my notebook while listening to music. The Black Angels aren't bad for inspiration for Supernatural, but that's neither here nor there. All of a sudden there was a voice in my ear and I jumped about half a mile. It was a gentleman on the way back to his seat.

Him: Have you ever heard about the study that shows the smaller a person writes, the more intelligent they are?

Me, still a bit startled: No, I hadn't heard that.

Him: You have phenomenally small handwriting. That is amazing. Amazing.

He leaned down to try to read what I was writing and then gave me an admiring look and proceeded on. I typically write two lines of text between the line spaces in a college-ruled notebook.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I write that small for two very simple reasons that have nothing to do with intelligence: 1) I got in the habit of it during college, because I could better gauge how long a paper would be once typed by writing smaller (I write about the same size as 11 pt Times New Roman), and 2) I don't like people being able to read what I'm writing when I do it in public.

And, oh yeah, I gotta write smaller, too.
