On Wednesday, my boss was at a meeting during which discussion of how to handle it if an employee appeared ill. "Best to err on the side of caution," the big bosses said. So, despite the fact we were already down a person, my boss raced from the meeting to go order the only front office staff person home because she had coughed once earlier in the day...

I mean. I get being cautious, but the week was already stressful - with that person sent home, it was left to the two of us in the office to cover the front, take on-the-spot questions via phone AND do full intakes. And the cough is something that happens a lot. People cough and sneeze when the vents kick on at work...I myself sneezed multiple times after this person was sent home, but apparently that's okay because it's not on the list of main symptoms to watch for.

Yeah. I had plans to go shopping for holiday stuff today AND to write out holiday cards. Instead I've barely moved from the sofa, though I did paint a little table to put my tree on and made this week's dinners in the crockpot.

^Neighbor across the way. This photo obviously did not turn out as anticipated, yet I kind of like it. I think it's because nearly every light she's got going flashes. It's...festive. Besides me putting lights in my windows, though, she's the only one to decorate so in that sense I appreciate her enthusiasm.
