Snapshot Sunday 25
Jun. 30th, 2019 10:49 amWe get 40 hours of personal leave annually and it runs out at the end of June. I miscalculated how much I had left, and rather than waste seven hours I just took all of Friday off. I had already planned on half day, as I went to doctor mid-afternoon... appointment was at 2:30 and I did not eat anything ahead of it knowing I would need to have blood drawn for some testing. Thanks, Dad, for your diabetes and high cholesterol. Glucose draws require at least 10 hour fast - by the time the blood was taken I was just over 20. Y'know, I always thought people who did the 24 hour fasting days were out of their minds but it honestly wasn't that difficult. I think I could have made it a full 24 but as I'd walked the two miles to doctor's office I figured it would be wisest to put something in my belly before heading back.
Anyway. Fasting a full day isn't terrible, but I won't be doing it voluntarily again anytime soon!

^This guy and a pal literally sauntered right past my picture windows - Walter didn't utter a sound. Not an hour earlier, my stomach gurgled and he leaped to barky action as if someone was busting into the house.

^Speaks for itself.

^These cats belong to a house where there are at least nine. I see them from time to time scattered across the lawn. Beneath the extra cars, boats and junk. They don't seem unhealthy, but somehow I still feel bad for them.
