Happy Independence Day
Jul. 4th, 2019 07:35 pmI dozed till 9:30, read a little, made cat food*, made four pints of no churn ice cream (strawberry, blueberry cheesecake, coffee chocolate chip and cookie dough -can't wait to try!), went for a walk and did lots of dishes.
Some fireworks have started. The cats startle but seem to be okay. I think of sweet, delicate Abe though he is gone. Walter shakes like a leaf and won't leave my side. I've given him an extra CBD treat and hope it helps. I don't expect I'll be sleeping upstairs tonight, though it's quite overcast so maybe people will be more courteous this year. Yeah, right!
Am watching holiday movies. As in Christmas. ;)
*Sad confession: I use old baby food jars to hold the homemade cat food. When I first began feeding this, I split the jars and labeled them with which cats got which jars as the smaller cats got less. Roy and Abe shared. Now as I'm remarking the lids when they wear clean, I continue to put R/A. How pathetic is it that I didn't even really realize until today that I was still doing this?
