Blasted cat!
Oct. 28th, 2016 08:00 pmActually, I'm very impressed with Pickle. I came home on Wednesday and not only had she gotten out of the cone, she'd done so while on top of the cupboards above the fridge. It took me two full circuits of the house to find it, but find it I had to - she'd rubbed so much the lining had swollen to cover her whole eye. It was terrifying to look at, if I'm going to be honest. It doesn't surprise me that she excels at making a bad thing even worse - neither Johnny nor Roy ever managed to get it that bad off, and they've had some doozies.
Then, last night, I found her "grooming" the cone. It's always such a sad thing to witness and I awwwwed at her. But she kept doing it for well past what was normal. I looked over and she'd twisted the cone around with her tongue until the clasp of the collar was within reach, then used her paw to unlatch herself!
That's my irritating little genius kitty! When she's not running away from me, she's following me around the house and snuggling a lot.
LOL, not that you all need to know about the days of my cat lives...
In other news, I've had a minor cold all week - so minor I felt lousy but didn't have any noticeable symptoms. I'm now at dry throat, alternating stuff and runny nose and major headache phase. Yay for the weekend! Looking forward for a sleep-in tomorrow.
