Full Moon Fever
Jun. 1st, 2007 08:15 amMore often than not, I have to boot people off the roof at night. I've said it before, but I really hate doing that. Aside from the Journey-blasting people, everyone's been cool about it, which only makes me feel worse.
But speaking of cool, the moon over the city last night was gorgeous. There were very thin clouds out, so the moon appeared very opaque and indistinct but was still very bright. It was gorgeous. I wish I had a good camera - it would have made an excellent photo. Just beautiful. The drunk people up there having dinner thought so too.
While the full moon is pretty as all get out, I have to say I hate the havoc it wreaks on my sleep. I hit the snooze button for an HOUR this morning. That's not healthy, I know, but damned if I could drag my sorry self out of bed when I was supposed to. So much for getting up early to jog. I doubt I'll ever accomplish that goal. One of the traits I seem to have picked up from my mother is my morningitis. I can get up early if I have to, but if I don't have to it's just not going to happen. I can't believe I lasted 2.5 years at a job that made me stumble out of bed at 5:15 AM. The full moon only makes getting up all the worse, because I usually have a hard time getting to sleep at night, and then when I do I have strange dreams I sometimes remember and sometimes don't. Lately that's don't; I'm just left with an impression of oddness.
Anyway, so I'm tired.
Also, a poor little bird just smacked into one of my office windows and then fluttered toward my wide-open window, where it sat all stunned for a minute or two on the frame. I thought it was going to fly into the building, but when I told it to "fly that way, little birdie" and pointed out, it did.
