Keep in mind, this is all me and that I've not been sleeping so well lately.
Could someone please tell me how people started thinking the word intact is actually two words (those being in and tact)?
Some strange compound word separation I can handle, but that one just really bugs me. It might look like a compound word that for some reason you want to de-compound (speaking of bad grammar), people, but it's not. It is one word. Intact means something different than in tact. I wish I could blame Microsoft on this phenomenon, but its grammar tool leaves intact, well, intact.
I'll admit that at first I liked people adding "age" to the end of words. Chestage, armage. It was cute. It's not cute anymore, it's pretty damned annoying. Stop it, please. I beg you.
I'm not even much into SG fandom anymore and the mention of the following two words continues to make me grit my teeth: Little Danny.
The whole "jerk/bitch" thing in Supernatural fandom? Out of control. Dean and Sam used that exchange...once. ONE time. I don't care that it looked familiar, like they'd said that before, and many times. It's getting very old in stories. I think it's already on par with the "rock/artifact" BS in SG fandom.
I know that a torch in other parts of the world means a flashlight in the US, but if your characters are natural born US citizens, please use flashlight. A torch here is a big, flaming stick. Like actual fire.
And bemuse is still not a synonym for amuse.
