Also, can someone please tell me why people make icons with miniscule, illegible script on them? Because, really, if I can't read it, it's like lint on the picture and I just want to brush it out of the way. Words are to be read, but if they're unreadable...

Maybe because some icons *look* readable before unloaded? But something that looked reasonable on one's own computer becomes miniscule on LJ, and by the time you've realized that little fact, the icon has already been saved that way so that going back to fix it means creating it from scratch. Again. Sometimes for the fourth or fifth time?

That's my excuse, anyway.

Heh. It's just that...when you're making it, you know the end product is going to be itty-bitty and so should be able to compensate. ;)

I might have made a couple with a text brush, only for effect, but I really do hate them. Pointless I say.

It doesn't annoy me so much as perplex me. If the words are supposed to be profoundly beautiful, the profoundity (and the beauty) is kind of voided out by the fact no one can read these deep thoughts. ;)

I asked someone once, and she told me the text (on her particular icon) wasn't meant to be read. It was part of the artwork.

I don't get it either and it drives me batty, too.

Urgh, why put text on something if it's not meant to be read?? Use some other artistic somethingorother. ;)
