I never learn

I bought a big bucket of dental treats for the cats, as I've been trained into the bad habit of a post meal snack for them in the mornings. I keep them and the dog treats in the big warmer drawer of my oven.
Well. Occasionally I thought I must leave the drawer open just a skosh and when I go for a walk with Walter in the evening - and ONLY then - I come home to find a cat has busted into the drawer. They have access to the drawer all day, every day but it is only broken into when I am out of the house with the dog. I didn't think it was a big deal. After all, the treats are in a bin, not a bag. With a lid. Safe.
HAH. Not only were they not safe, but I also know with total certainty I did NOT leave the drawer open these last two times.

^It was full when I left on this day.

^Annnnnnd, again, two days later. Note: that is not dirt on my thumbnail. I feel the need to explain that! It's from when a shelter dog got a bit too excited and nearly took my thumb with the treat I was giving her.
Because I didn't wise up and move the treats to a more secure location. I swear. The first night I suspect it was John who ate the most. Last night, both Pickle and Roy declined to enjoy their dinners...which were substantially reduced anyway; I fed light for everyone.
Do you know how spendy those stupid buckets of treats are? Ugh. That would have lasted me months.
That Johnny. She is always trying to get into cupboards these days. Her oddest quirk seems to be increasing with age.
