Peace, Love, Dope

I still like the CBD for the joint pain relief and the sleep, but it gives me horrible dry mouth. Yick.
Also, Pickle's prozac ran out Sunday or Monday. I decided not to automatically get a refill because I still don't really like drugging her. She's already started chewing on any plastic she can find and (despite the CBD) I have been awoken by some night time scuffles. All things that happened pre-prozac. I think she is just a nervous nelly and am starting to think she can't be without it. Like, I worry if I don't keep her on it we'll go down the whole stress UTI and peeing problem path again. Will be discussing with vet.
Also, the UTI food I have her on is making her chubby! I picked her up the other day and she's noticeably heavier. Not fat, but surely more substantial. Likely because the food is kind of filled with junk.
Cats, what're you gonna do?

Also, this girl came into the shelter a little over a month ago, her body 90% mange. I really wish I had the means to set up a non-profit designed to help people with limited means keep their pets fed and healthy, so they don't have to give them up. It would keep the shelter less busy as well as allowing people who really benefit from the companionship of an animal to keep them.

That said, I adore this sweet girl. She is in desperate need of regaining her mojo, as she jumps at nearly every sound and huddles real close. She is sweet and attentive and I so very wish 1) I was an actual dog person and 2) I didn't have Walter. Not having Walter wouldn't solve the first one, I know. But this sweet baby is one of those who gets me right in the heart. Her name is Layla and she is about the most gorgeous dog I have ever seen.

Date: 2019-10-06 03:52 pm (UTC)I just started taking it the other day myself. I've been wanting to for awhile, but fear what it might do to my hormones ('cause they're wonky and I have them balanced on a very fine line). We'll see.

Date: 2019-10-08 02:47 am (UTC)Hmm, I hadn't heard it can muck with hormones. I really like it for pain control in my joints. I take it every other day rather than every and it seems to work that way.
