Usually by the end of a week off, I'm actually ready to get back to work. Not so this time - I don't know why, but I really wouldn't mind another week! Sadly, all I really did was organize my junk drawer, fix some window screens and ... paint my front door. Not done with that yet. I started that on Wednesday by peeling back some paint - the painters I hired didn't do a fabulous job on some parts of the house, but the door was the worst. Before they'd even driven off, the paint was buckling, and they'd used a roller on it, leaving it textured in a way I did not care for. Anyway, the paint came off alarmingly easy, the layers that were fresh and several others. Half the door peeled off without using any kind of tool or chemical, actually. And once you start, you gotta stay the course.
Five days later, I still need one last coat to the door and then to clean up the frame.
What a way to spend a summer vacation. Zzzzz. However, it has kept me occupied, so that might have something to do with not being ready to go back. I haven't spent as much time reading and lazing; I haven't had a chance to get bored with that!

Speaking of lazy, anyone want to come walk Walter for me? So not feeling it today.
