Good ol' ingenuity

I went all MacGyver on my new glasses today, after they kept sliding down my face while I did housework. Like most glasses, that'll probably always be a slide-down occasion, but I wanted them to feel more secure than they were, so I thought about it and figured I must have something I could use to make plastic bows more malleable. Enter my flat iron! Yep, I heated up the bows slightly and carefully bent them until I felt comfortable with the fit. Is it perfect? No, but I am finding them much more secure.
Not that this is particularly genius - I'm sure it's been done by many people. I'm still pleased with myself for finding a solution of glasses that were made for someone with a bigger face than mine.
And it was just a matter of my eyes getting used to the Rx. I've spent at least six months with an overcorrection, resulting in some major eye fatigue. It probably went on even longer than that, but the uptick in my discomfort was about half a year. So, it's understandable that it would take time. It was basically like the switch from contacts to glasses at the end of the day, that slight disorientation lasting for days instead of a minute. Maybe that only happens for certain people? I dunno, it's always been a thing for me.
Speaking of MacGyver, I had actually entertained the thought of watching the reboot despite the firm belief no one and I mean NO ONE will ever be MacGyver but RDA because I enjoy George Eads. Then I realized that Peter Lenkov is involved. Slim chance of watching, obliterated.
