What a way to end the week.

The kid next door had his car parked in front of the spot I usually park Dixie. Luckily, Dixie is small and smart and I didn't have to Towanda him out of the way.
Trudged up stairs to head into the house. Rounded the corner and discovered my living room window screen had been peeled back. The window, which I had been leaving open for fresh air for cats, had been closed most of the way, so I surmised that someone must have been around when it happened, saw the cats and had the decency to close it enough to prevent escape. Crisis of conscience after a break-in attempt? I dunno. I let myself into house, where Roy stood in front of the door already meowing at me. No sign of Johnny. I panic for a split second, but then she comes trotting down.
WHEW.
Nothing stolen or moved inside. I examined the screen again and wondered if an 8 or 11 pound cat could possibly have enough strength to break metal (the frame is still attached and in place at the bottom), and nope. NO way. Someone obviously tried to get in.
Roy says, "Who did that? Not me!"
Bonus Johnny from a while back.

The landlord came out to look at it and was pretty unhelpful, though he did suggest that someone might have been trying to get the cats out. John and Roy definitely do flirt with people who pass by, so it's a scary possibility.
Landlord didn't seem too inclined to replace the screen for me.
I should mention the kid parking in front of where I usually pull in is not related to the break-in attempt. Or whatever it was. :)
