Okay, now that I got the slight whinging out of the way.
Anyone in my small flist up for a title and plot offering, if not exchange? Do you have any story ideas or even simply titles you think could be made into something great?
This is not fandom specific. Just because I don't watch something doesn't mean you can't talk about it here. Thinking about it, my flist probably isn't big enough for this. Invite friends who do watch it with you to give their insights, too, maybe?
Oh, and it doesn't have to be fanfic. If you've got original ideas you like but will probably never get around to, they can go here as well.
The Theory of Relativity (SPN, though I think the title alone is generic enough anyone could use it): Original plot idea was Sam finding a way to go back and make it so Dean never made a deal for his life, except no matter how far back he goes he can't keep Dean from dying. I gave this up 1) because I don't know if I have the chops for a time travelling story, 2) the show kinda did a time loopy episode, and 3) I could never quite get it to make sense in my head. Dean would have to die very soon after Sam's attempts in order for him to know if it would work, otherwise the kid would live life after life with awful anticipation. The end, though, was Sam somehow erasing himself from existence.
To Every Action (SG-1): The team comes across a planet where there's a symbiotic relationship between the peoples. One class is rich and has everything...because they essentially suck all the good stuff from another class, who are outcasts. Naturally, SG-1 doesn't actually know this. A member of SG-1 accidentally comes into contact with an outcast, and finds the symbiosis is coincidentally reversed and he (oh, you know who I was putting in this role!) starts ailing. Blah, blah. I have a chunk of this one written, but somehow SG-1 ended on an island of flying dinosaur creatures. *sigh*
An End Has a Start (any genre)
Wax Poetic (SPN): Because I foolishly watched House of Wax once. This could actually be creepy, if I can ever motivate to do it.
The Collector (SPN, though it could work for muliple fandoms - it's a cliché!): Ultimately, this one's just an excuse to kill Bela. Bela takes money from someone who has their eyes on Sam and Dean as cherished items in her collection. Blah, blah, stuff happens. Bela dies. On hold, because I'm trying to think of a somewhat valid reason both guys would be "collected." I'm thinking...for the pretty. ;)
Strength In Numbers (orig): I had this idea once to do a poetry book, basically a family tree of poetry. Every poem would be loosely based on kin. This was going to be therapy for me. Turns out, I ain't no poet. Hee.
No title, but I still need to figure out how to take the people and experiences I had at the Vermin Inn and put them into story form. I can't get it cohesive. A collection of short stories might work best.
So that's me. If anyone wants a title or plot, feel free. It might not stop me from writing it myself, though.
Uh, but clearly no one will want the original ideas. ;)
*listens to the crickets chirp* If you'd rather just do something similar on your own journal, have at it.

Date: 2008-04-22 09:27 pm (UTC)SG-1 gates to a world where the people were taken by the Goa'uld from Spain centuries ago. Purely for the swordfighting and pretty outfits, of course. ;) I've wanted to write that fic for years, but I know I could never do it justice. They needed more swordplay on SG-1, dangit.
As for SPN...
I had a bunny for a fic where John was too injured in the car crash to run off and sacrifice himself for Dean, leaving him and Sam alone together when Dean dies. I'm just not brave enough to write it, heh. Someone probably has already, though.

Ooh, swordplay sounds awesome. Do it! Do it! (Or commission someone to do it!) ;)
I like that SPN idea, even if it has been done. I don't know if it has, but it seems a very logical AU to me.

Date: 2008-04-23 09:12 pm (UTC)Maybe I will write the AU one day, but I don't know... I'm not really into the SPN fanfic world, but I'm pretty sure anybody who kills off Dean would be flamed to high heaven, wouldn't they? ;)
