Part of it is that he likes to experiment, so he's not interested in giving me the same haircut every time. No matter how good a stylist is, there is a greater chance of fucking up when he's constantly changing it up.
I don't mind change, really, as long as I can style it myself, and with minimal effort. To me, standing with a flat iron trying to make the flippiness stop flipping is too much work. Plus, if I succeed it is only for a little while. Five minutes, I've timed, where my hair looks smooth and flat and un-flippy. After that? Flippity do-dah!
For you, I'd suggest finding someone content with simple styling, and letting you keep said simple style for more than two haircuts. :)
