The thing about getting pro help is that so many of them are one-trick ponies...As for diet, that's not simple either. It could be the cookies and Cheetos that are putting on the pounds, but it could also be carbs in general. Or sugar. Or meat. If you talk to enough people, you'll get all sorts of claims of "I cut out [whatever]" and lost weight.

It's overall depressing. My sister stopped drinking soda and lost 10 lbs. I had a 20+ ounce Mt. Dew daily habit for a long time, and when I quit cold turkey I didn't drop any weight at all.

(For the record, I don't actually eat Cheetos much, but OH do I love them.)
