Ah, but Hathor always called Daniel Beloved...yet she always turned to Jack. It was Jack she called "my love" back in the day, despite the fact he was actually just her first Jaffa. She's a weird one.
I think it would have been a killer idea for Sam to be chosen. If it had worked out for Hathor, she and Sam could've galavanted around the universe like Thelma and Louise.
