Mysterious letter

In my mailbox tonight was a letter, from an address I don't recognize (no name given). It appeared to be empty, was sealed with a "J" wax stamp and had "Happy New Year!" written across the back. I opened the envelope and found a tiny origami crane tucked inside.
Very odd.
Bonus points to the rerun of Everwood that's on right now, because they're using DeVotchKa's "How It Ends." I adore that song very much. So much that I'm not even embarrassed to admit I'm watching a rerun of Everwood.

Date: 2007-01-18 02:26 am (UTC)Was it postmarked? Do you know anyone from the postmarked city with a J in their name? If it's from your own city, is there anyone you know with a J who's into origami?
(If you couldn't tell, this would drive me nuts until I figured it out.)

Date: 2007-01-19 06:18 am (UTC)It came from a couple I know who had paper cranes at their wedding reception, which was a year ago. Much less creepy. ;)

Date: 2007-01-18 04:46 pm (UTC)I own a wax seal with the letter C on it. I use it sometimes, but letterwriting, sadly, is an art not many practice anymore.
Speaking of, I should jot off a note to my mother.
