Hee! Me too. I get him, too. I did enjoy these few episodes a lot better than most of last week's. It seemed like they made progress with The Berrisford Agenda and then ignored it and made Alec a one-note chump again, except JA never played it that way.
In these episodes, especially the one where Alec got arrested, I thought they did a good job of showing the character motivations of both Alec and Max. OTOH, it broke my heart when she was going to leave without even saying anything at all to him. Even if she didn't act like it, she's his only real friend besides Joshua, who also left without telling him.
I agree, too, that the show is just starting to hit its stride...or something. They amped up the tension and the character arcs played right into it. Even Joshua had me a bit choked up at times.
I don't know if you'd be interested in this, and it's one of those annoying sites where everything you click on opens in a pop-up window, but the person who put together this site took a lot of time and effort to gather information from the show and then lay it all out in chronological order (at least in the Manticore History section).
Anyway, this is the site: http://alec494.egoism.jp/
The history section spoils the end of the series, so you might want to wait to read it, but I found it very interesting.
