Anyone want to come do yardwork for me? It'd be one thing if it was my yard and I cared about it, but it isn't and I don't. Plus I just woke up and I feel terrible. Blech.
Off to work for The Man, but first:
Happy Canada Day!

Date: 2006-07-01 07:48 pm (UTC)I don't do yardwork even though I have my own yard. Years ago I wanted a garden, so toolman dug up a plot for me. I harrowed it by hand and planted a few things and then forgot about it. *g* The next year I actually bought dirt. I hired someone to bring some dirt with a dump truck and dump it in my yard. *g* I got some other good garden stuff, had a guy come with a rototiller to turn it over for me, planted some great stuff, and...forgot about it. *g* Toolman did all the weeding and watering and everything else related to the garden. *g*
I always think I'll want to do that stuff more than I really do. Nowadays, I resist the urge even to buy flowers or anything. If toolman wants flowers, he buys them. He mows and does everything. If I didn't have him, I'd have to hire someone to do it. *g* In my old age, I've realized that I'm not going to be doing yard work any time soon, even if I *think* I want to. heh
I wish you didn't have to do it either, but at least it's not the worst possible job. *g* Oh, gosh, I'm just so positive! *g*

I do like that about doing stuff like yardwork - tangible results. I could push paper all day at my regular job, but it never looks like I've done anything because there are still piles on my desk. ;)

That's a good point. I feel that way around here. I want to tell my family that they just cannot eat anything else--ever--because I'm sick of doing the dishes and cleaning up all the time. It's actually worse when they help, too. Since we moved to this house, nobody seems to be able to remember where anything goes. It drives me nuts. *g* I want to clean up just once and let that be it forever. *g*

A week later, I'm up to my elbows in clutte again.
