Nothing crazy happened a the wedding despite being held on a full moon day. I have to give props to my sister - she wanted to elope, but T. wanted a big wedding (by which I think he just meant with all the bells and whistles, because the wedding was quite small). Everything was reasonable and quick (no full Catholic wedding - T.'s family is the antithesis of ours) and the reception was great evenif it was held in the sticks. And by sticks I mean boondocks and by boondocks I mean in a country club just outside of a town with a population of 1600.

That said, I have to say it was the BEST service I have ever seen at a wedding. Buffet-style is pretty common in the midwest, outside of bigger cities anyway. The food was magnificent (my view might have been biased, as all I'd had to eat that day was a piece of cinnamon raisin bread, but everyone else raved, too) and there was never an empty bowl or container for more than about 20 seconds. My BIL made a comment to a waitperson as she walked around with glasses of milk or water about wishing it was beer...a minute later, a pitcher of beer was at our table. Nice!

There were tons of people I hadn't seen in ages, so it was nice to catch up a bit. I didn't do too much of that because, well, I'm still got a touch of the "look at me funny and I'll cry" going on.

Biggest issues were not entirely wedding related. I had booked a king suite because it was that or a double queen by the pool. My sister L. decided to crash with me, which made the king more problematic...but not as problematic as the fact the room was a smoking room. It was nasty. We changed rooms the next night, though, and all was good.

Then there was my little brother, who almost didn't show for the wedding itself. We had to call him to get him to come for pictures - I have little faith that they turned out well, as our family was done in about 5 minutes due to T.'s late arrival. You try getting a good photo of thirteen people in 5 minutes. No complete family photo (id est inlaws included). After the wedding, T. went back to his hotel. And stayed there. He didn't come to the reception, despite multiple people begging him to.

That's his choice, right? Sure it is, but I hardly get to see the guy and of my family I find it easiest to talk to him. I love him to bits in spite of some of his overwhelmingly annoying traits. See note above about still feeling mopey myself.

I didn't get to wear the green silk dress; it was way too cold. Fortunately, I was forewarned and packed an alternate dress w/sweater. The pansies from Tucson whined all weekend long about how cold it was. Seriously, they act as though they have never experienced weather other than the 100 F scorching heat they get now.

And even though the moisturizer I used while traveling was for sensitive skin, it wasn't what I usually use and the little beauty mark aka mole by my right eye is very tender.

Why did I think I'd be okay to come to work today? Oh, that's right, because I expected to be home a good hour before I actually got home.

That sounds...not bad! *g* I haven't yet read the other message about this because I have too many tabs opened up and it's hidden from my view until I can answer more comments, but it sounds like it was an okay experience. {{{hugs}}}
