Bless me, for I have sinned. Our new manager is still dreadful. I wish I could fully explain why - but an example is his utter obliviousness when it comes to people and schedules. He very often has no idea when someone is in the office or out of the office, and doesn't think to have anyone cover if there's only one person at the front (there is normally two, so when one is gone...). That's a minor gripe. There's worse. Anyway, on Friday both people who cover the front and do things such as preparing and posting the mail were out. At 4:30 I decided to ask him if he had any plans for the mail getting out. He looked totally stunned, asked if it was postmarked. I said very sunnily that I didn't think so. Context: earlier in his tenure he scolded another worker to stay in her lane when she wanted to watch how the postage machine worked. Not your job, he said. Apparently he never learned how, either, and his instinct was to go to the newest person on staff to ask her if she knew how. Bwahahahaha.

The sinning part is that I know very well how the postage machine works and often run mail through when the front is short staffed to save them a bit of work. I kind of just wanted to see what he would do. Honestly, though. He just doesn't connect dots and we have ALL repeatedly complained to upper management.

We lost another staff person and right now have zero people in a full role/position. It's a poop show, y'all. The only and not admirable reason I stay is that I am old and the pay/benefits cannot be even close to duplicated where I live.

Okay, enough of that. Mowed the lawn today for the first time since June and I am so sore.


^Someone tried to sell this guy on Craigslist, he escaped and was picked up by the police instead. Ughhh, people. He is AMAZING. The dimmest bulb I have ever encountered in a dog, but so dang loveable.
