Finally spoke with the local postmaster. He explained that it was either call animal control and have Walter carted off to jail (his home away from home) or withhold mail. They chose to withhold mail. The problem, the postmaster said, was that left them no way to contact me to notify of the action... so they decided to just wait until I contacted them.

I find that to be on the napoleonic powermonger spectrum. But it could be just me. Especially considering the problem dog is RARELY outside and the mailbox is well away from the house so they needn't fear he might rip through the door or bust out a window to get at them. He's just that vicious, you know.

Speaking of Walter, brought him to work with me today so that I could drive by the groomer for a nail trim. He was an absolute charmer with everyone. I got there and they were not open. I do not know how businesses stay in business around here.
