Training is ... not going to be enough. The trainers do not have any knowledge of the programs the system will be administering, so if questions arise we all get stuttering non-responses. I just don't think the people at the top have a reasonable idea of how difficult this will be to roll out statewide on so little actual preparation. All told, we've had a few days of training on new programs and a week of training with the software itself. And even that has been spotty - for those who are not state employees, there have been connection issues galore. To those, the trainers just say, 'maybe restart?' At times, I'm moving along just fine and then bam! "technical error, bye now".
Oh well. Way back in the day I came to the conclusion that we can only do what we can do, and one's energy is better spent elsewhere than worrying about the things one can't do.
Today it was announced there is a severe COVID outbreak at one of the seafood processing plants. We are talking 77 new cases. Eep.
