Truffle-filled chocolate cupcakes

Chocolate truffle, not truffle truffle. ;) As a thank you for those who helped me move, I offered baked goods. No one bit until Friday, when a coworker whose husband and friend did most of the heavy lifting asked for something chocolate. Et voila! Chocolate cupcakes with a truffle in the middle and chocolate whipped cream frosting.

I'm still struggling to understand the oven. Sometimes it works like a charm, other times it seems like it takes twice as long to cook things as it should. I'm just glad these came out just right!

In other news, I cannot sit down for more than half a second before Roy will race toward me to curl up. Sit down. THUMP, skitter, skitter, pad, skitter, and there he is. The only thing missing is him shouting, "Dibs, I call dibs!" as he runs.

The only awards shows we had to watch were the Oscars and the Emmys? I swear, every other week, someone's giving someone else an award. It's a good thing they don't have real world jobs; they'd never get anything done what with all the mutual back-patting.


Retailers were closed on Thanksgiving. Apparently now the theme of the day is "be thankful you have a job, forget the family and get to work, you peon."
