About a week ago I read a fanfic in which a character got trapped beneath a felled tree during a storm, in a flooding river. Peril! Peril! Drowning. Whew, he was only dead for a few minutes, but it was touch and go.
Last night I finished up a story about a logging family in Oregon...the climax of which involved the sweetest, nicest, most positive-thinking person (he was, in fact, the only character with more redeeming qualities than horrible) got ploughed over and pinned by a tree. In a storm. In a flooding river. And he DIED and stayed that way. It was so traumatic I actually cried. I don't cry at that kind of thing in books. But...Joe Ben! Waaaahhhhh!
What are the chances of reading this very thing twice in such a short span of time?
I can't take any more drownings.
Also, I strangely have Little Boxes in my head.
