Just some stuff
Dec. 8th, 2007 02:22 pm1) I sold my car. Part of me is excited about this, and part of me dreads letting her go. A coworker's car exploded, and she does use a vehicle far more often than I and so I thought this was a good opportunity. No, I didn't get as much for as it as I could have elsewhere, but money isn't everything. I'm happy to help her out. At the same time, I wonder how painful this is going to be, seeing my precious Bullet every day. I really do love the car, I just don't need to drive her. Anyway, the transaction will be completed on Monday.
2) Because I won't have a car after Monday, I did what I hate doing and grocery shopped on my credit card. Payday is Monday and I could have lasted on the brown rice and eggs I have left, but I wanted to stock up on big things, things to make other things with and the thought of either lugging it to and fro by foot or by bus, with multiple trips, was not appealing. Next time I'll have to do that. And after all was said and done, I forgot the sour cream.
3) Landpeople are away until Tuesday, yay! It's quiet and peaceful. Perfect for writing.
4) *sigh* Writing. I should be plowing right through a fic that has a deadline of next Saturday. I've written all of 46 words, and they're not even good words: An hour or five minutes, it didn’t make much of a difference. The time Dean spent trapped in the warehouse with only a few enormous rats and a dead woman for company was endless, his mind filled with what if scenarios and frustration and stark fear.
5) I am making soup. It won't be ready for dinner tonight, but it's okay because it's better on the second day anyway.
6) Last night, it took forever to get home. About seven blocks from my downtown stop, all the busses powered electrically stopped. Power outage, only on the bus lines. I had to walk, which wasn't a big deal except I missed my connection by about 30 seconds. Then the next bus was packed like a sardine can. I finally got the third one, and decided halfway home that I'd stop at Trader Joe's and pick up dinner because I really didn't want eggs and brown rice. ;) Then I walked the remaining mile from there. I could have waited for the next bus, but really, if you can get there as fast walking, why stand around and wait?
Okay, enough with the delay tactics. Time to write.
