Focus, people.
Aug. 31st, 2006 08:57 amWhen you make a phone call that ends up in voice mail, do you actually listen to that message or do you assume you've dialed the correct number and leave a detailed message?
Just asking, because someone called the emergency pager last night and asked for Ron and Judy (or something) and then left a rambling message about getting together soon. I'm sorry, but when the outgoing message is "You've reached the after hours emergency pager for the Q Apartments. Please leave a brief message yadda, yadda, yadda..." you should figure out that it's not the right number.
This happens to me at home, too. Every once in a while I'll get this old guy saying "Hello? Hellooooo?" on my machine. Telemarketers, too, seem very confused and think the recording is an actual person. Several doctors' offices have called and left messages regarding little Cindy Lou's prescription.
I suppose I should change my outgoing message to be a generic, "Hi, you've reached 555-5555. Check the number you meant to call before you leave a message not intended for the occupant of this home, you bastards."
