And now more bitty pieces of Snapshots:
Title: Gutters
Author:
superbadgirl (Carrie)
Season/spoiler: 7
Series: Story three of Snapshots
Rating: still PG
Summary: Uh. I still haven't figured out how to summarize what is merely a moment. Daniel tries to figure things out.
Disclaimer: Not mine, damnit.
Gutters
~~*~~
Arrom thought Samantha Carter’s eyes were luminescent and expressive. He could feel what was going inside of her just by watching what shone from those beautiful eyes. Teal’c was a mystery to him, physical countenance bearing a certain placidity at all times while his eyes contradicted that with surprise and deep happiness. Jonas Quinn was a true blank most of the time, but always ready to adopt an appropriate expression.
Glancing sideways as they walked toward the Stargate, Arrom caught Jack O’Neill watching him with eyes that frightened and intrigued him. They were gutters, filled with dark, obscure emotions. He wanted, needed, to understand the mystery. That was one of the strongest reasons why he knew he had to take this journey.
Title: To Bear the Weight
Author:
superbadgirl (Carrie)
Season/spoiler: 7
Series: Story four of Snapshots
Rating: still PG
Summary: Jack contemplating the cruelty of life.
To Bear the Weight
~~*~~
Jack never would have imagined it was worse to have Daniel back, solid, than so far away. Dead. He had been in a state of numbness for a long time, broken by one moment of hope that was promptly quashed. Thinking Daniel dead after taking too great a step over the line Jack himself had drawn in the sand was a cakewalk to this…this terribleness of having and yet not. He was afraid he would crack into a million pieces, so he reinforced his exterior with lacquer.
Because Daniel wasn’t even Daniel. He walked like Daniel and he talked like Daniel and he pissed Jack off like Daniel did, but he was Arrom. Jack was afraid his shoulders were not broad enough to bear this weight.
These are the miniest of the minis.
