Blast from the Past

superbadgirlGot home tonight after hitting up the grocery store, found a text on my phone. Colleague reporting to me that "XX from Colorado" stopped by to ask me to lunch. "XX from Colorado" being a former bipolar client who took a shine to me while I was assigned as his contact person. He moved to Colorado FOUR YEARS AGO.
Genuinely did not expect that, but it fits my history. One former boyfriend once contacted my boss a full year after we broke up, looking for me. Another reached out randomly several years after parting ways. Both were "nope, not ever happening again" scenarios. This guy? Never gonna happen even once.
Gah. And this is why I do not even bother dipping toes in the dating pool. The magnet I have for the mentally troubled is very strong.
