Thirty-ninth Week

I give up. I'm going to have to call vet for non-topical flea treatments. I can't get rid of these things! Grrr.
It's sunny and warm today. I really need to get out there with my weed whacker, and to bring in my little greenhouse. Apparently the forecast for the remainder of the year = stormy weather landing from the ocean, making October and especially November very wet and windy. Naturally!
I always manage to forget how much I hate walking in the rain. I don't hate the rain itself, it's being out in it. Heh.
Making a big pot of chili for this week's dinners, though it's supposed to stay warm for a bit. It just sounded good.

^I don't know why I never really paid attention to the tree back there. It's fabulous.

^Saw this deer last year about this time and thought for sure it wouldn't last the winter. Something is clearly wrong with her mouth, but she looks hale and hardy despite whatever limitations that must surely give her.

^This is Pickle. She often appears like she is plotting my demise, but in this instance she would not let go of my finger/hand. So sweet.
And that brings me to a favor. Local animal assistance non profit is fundraising online this year, as their biggest event - a holiday auction and bake sale* - cannot happen. You don't have to donate, but it sure would be nice if you did. Or if you spread the word, or whatever makes you feel comfortable, up to and including mentally telling me to piss off. ;)

*confession: not terribly upset to not have to bake ten dozen homemade samoa cookies! They're so piddly. Delicious, but a pain to make at that volume and often requested.

Date: 2020-09-28 01:40 am (UTC)That is a very cool tree, I wonder what caused it to grow an almost 90 degree angle. Also like the Greek imitation pillar.
