Mixed bag of H50 and E! first lines under cut.
1) Steve wanted nothing more than to wipe the smarmy look off of the bastard’s face, made more evident in the blue light of the interrogation room.
2) The bullpen buzzed with movement.
3) Days off were supposed to be well-earned blessings, chances to unwind from the stress of the job.
4) “Here’s the thing,” Danny said as he pushed past Steve into the house.
5) Once upon a time, there was a man who lived on an island.
6) The place was dark as Roy DeSoto navigated the family car down the long and slightly bumpy drive.
7) She showed up again on a Tuesday, mid morning.
8) Something wasn't right.
9) He wouldn’t deny that he’d needed the beer.
10) He leaned against the doorframe, waited for the Gages to make their goodbyes with Johnny and tried to make his presence as unobtrusive as possible.
11) Steve didn’t mean to stare, but he could not keep his eyes from tracking Danny’s every move.
12) The fire crackled and popped, the warm orange tones taking over for the sun’s golden rays as it sank below the horizon, aided by the old, colorful string of lights he’d found a couple of years ago and hung on the lanai balcony for the first time this year.
13) Roy surveyed the living room, a tiny bit appalled and a whole lot charmed by the mish-mash of decorations filling nearly every nook and cranny.
14) The street blurred in front of him and he blinked to clear his vision.
15) “He’s going to be all right,” Steve said, head tilting as if he were looking for someone who wasn’t there. “He has to be.”
16) Danny glanced up from his desk just as Catherine beat what seemed to him a hasty retreat from the office.
17) Steve had never given much thought to the plight of parents of a toddler before.
18) “I am so sorry,” Cath said, eyes huge and wet with unshed tears. “I should have told you.”
19) The first time it happened, Steve thought it was a fluke.
20) “This is one hundred percent your fault,” Danny said as he shifted gingerly.
21) Steve wasn’t a stranger to these kinds of aches and pains, and he wasn’t one to whine about them.
