Dreams Teach
Aug. 28th, 2021 08:48 amThe other night I had a dream. In the dream, I was in a car headed to an airport. One of my brothers was with me and we were heading abroad. Odd, really, since this brother is terrified of air travel and he'll never go anywhere (sad!). We arrived at the airport and it was then I pondered, "I wonder if I'll need a passport because we're going from London to Paris."
As if I wouldn't have needed it to get to London...
Panic! Some random guy pulled back a random door, and there he had a passport kiosk. "I can help," he said. So we got our photos taken, yadda, and only then did he tell us he charged $500 per person. We balked at that, then he pointed out some fine print with that figure.
Feeling duped, we ran back to the car and left the airport.
Then I woke up and realized I haven't yet gotten a passport, which is what I intended to to ... in January, after I opted out of the Real ID thing at DMV. So, I brought my camera to work, had a coworker snap a few shots. Got home and ran them through the photo tool on the passport site. Three will work, one is the more acceptable shot of me.
And, naturally, that's the shot that I must have double deleted the jpeg file and kept the RAW. I tried to upload, it got rejected for not being jpeg, saved as jpeg, it's got too high a compression rate and doesn't pass. Can't find the original jpeg anywhere, it's not in my trash bin. So I have to go with a less attractive photo, or start over with new photos.
This sounds stupid, but I hate having my photo taken and don't want to do it again. LOL. Don't you dare call me a word that starts with ess and ends in nowflake. ;)
It's all a bunch of first world problems.
Speaking of first world problems, work situation blew up even more. Colleague left in a huff on Tuesday out of boss's office, stating she was "no longer allowed" to see people in the office, and has worked from home since. I guess having a mental breakdown got her what she wanted. I'd try it, but that shit never seems to work for me.
