Snapshot Sunday 24
Jun. 23rd, 2019 09:34 amThis week I ran into a gentleman leaving the dog kennel area. Occasionally folks will stop us to ask about a particular animal, so when he started speaking I expected that. Nope, he had some commentary about how all we had were "mean dogs". Of all of the dogs currently in the care of the shelter, all are sweet except for two, who are simply terrified and show it by growling. He'd stopped in front of the kennel of one of the sweetest. She was barking, which is apparently considered "mean" to him. I tried to set him right - I mean, honestly. Spend your whole life in a 4 x 16 box with limited access to the outdoors and see how YOU react. A dog in a kennel is not representative of the dog's actual personality.
Some people's kids. I hope he is never approved to adopt.

Speaking of judging: Mr. In Between here doesn't look like a cat you'd want to meet in a dark alley. ;)

Those eyes!

Love the placement of this lawn decoration.

Someone left this dog toy in the freezer section. I usually get a little annoyed by people who can't walk items they've changed their minds about back to where they found them, but this is pretty funny. Cow looks like it fainted.

Daylily

This is the baby of the two terrified dogs at the shelter. They're part shar pei, which is naturally a very loyal but suspicious-of-others breed anyway, and I think they had a rough go of it. Parents are a little over one, this pup is six months. :( She adores the person wielding the leash, is not receptive to others. I brought her over to office for a visit. She climbed on my lap and would not budge from it. If I had the temperament AND the household composition for a dog like this, I would have a very hard time resisting. She is so freaking cute.
